Alishan Black is an excellent introduction to Taiwan teas and to Floating Leaves' excellent taste in distinctive, exquisite tea. As a Southerner (we drink a lot of tea), I spent 40 years drinking black teas that came in a bag and were steeped in boiling water for three minutes. It was my great good fortune to meet Shiuwen Tai on a trip from my current hometown (Houston) to her welcoming space in Ballard. She took time to understand what I was looking for and to show me how to make tea worth drinking. This is one of the best as an introduction to the many wonderful possibilities tea from Taiwan offers.
